Just finished up some great tracks for my Harlem Shuffle Band Project (www.harlemshuffleband.com). I had John Bush (Edie Brickell & The New Bohemians) on drums and Mark Epstein (Johnny Winter/Joe Bonamassa) on bass. Came out great. I'll be adding horns to those tracks shortly and they will be posted on the Harlem Shuffle Site for all to enjoy!

My new project Harlem Shuffle got off to a great start. We rehearsed the horn charts (Tenor Sax/Trumpet/Trombone) and they sounded great! I had to dust off the ol' Berklee arranging books but I dug in and got about 20 charts completed. Want to have 20 to 30 more. And then it's on to booking!

I've been busy writing charts for my new show band 'Harlem Shuffle'. Harlem Shuffle is a 3 horn (tenor sax/trumpet/trombone) soul band playing music that ranges from Sam & Dave to Fats Domino to Tom Jones! It's been fun yet challenging to arrange horns again (I haven't done any horn arranging since the early 90's when I did some arrangements for The Movers). I've assembled some fabulous players for the band and am looking forward to our 'first' outing (a private event) on May 21st!
